Turf Accounts
Training and other Costs PDF Print E-mail

Training Costs etc are based on estimates, the monthly rate for a ten share syndicate of $200 is an upper estimate of the amount required per month. In particular during the first twelve months the horses are less likely to be in full work (which is the most expensive) as much as later in their careers.

It is possible that the horse account will be in surplus after twelve months and indeed at other times during the horse's racing career, any such surplus will be redistributed to owners on a pro rata basis.

If the horse races interstate or in stakes races the costs may increase but return from the horse's performances should easily cover these costs.
