Our Bertolini gelding Red Centurion had his first start over 1000m at Morphettville Parks on Wednesday 16/09/09. He jumped away reasonably well and was fourth at about the 600 m mark. He was passed and crossed by another horse and did not seem to appreciate having other horses around him, he also seemed to react to sand coming up off the track into his face. As a consequence he fell back through the field and finished well back.

 We were not anticipating that he would get to the races this preparation so the fact that he has is a plus. He will now go for a spell and will hopefully benefit greatly from his first race.
